Dear Disc Golf Friends
We would like to cordially invite all of your club or disc golf course players to attend the LARGEST disc golf club fund raising event in the state of Florida.
Date to be determined, we are hoping to schedule the event in January of 2008, to be held at Turkey lake disc golf course.

Object:
The object of this event is to encourage all the disc golf club members and players of disc golf courses across the entire state of Florida, to come together for a weekend and help raise funds for their upcoming events, course maintenance programs or charity programs to donate to.
There will be two rounds of disc golf played on Saturday by every club or course representative. The top (2) members of each of the following divisions will move on to the match play round on Sunday, PROFESSIONAL, AMATEUR and INTERMEDIATE divisions. Gender doesn't matter, they just have to play in the appropriate division according to player rating system provided by the PDGA.
The rest of the players or course representatives are encouraged to stay and be a part of the largest gallery in the state of Florida. The players are playing for the TROPHY that has their club/course engraved on the name plate. The winning club/course keeps the trophy until the next year’s event. If you have more than one cours in your area, even better. You do not have to just represent a club you can represent the course that you frequently play disc golf at. No limitations there.

Fund raising:
Saturday evening there will be a FREE fly mart set up at the indoor pavilion. Each club/course is encouraged to set up a fly mart stand and sell their club stock. Sell snacks, drinks etc. Whatever your club can come up with to generate the fund raising for their club/course. Order some specialty discs with a club logo or drinking glasses with club logos or sell some club t-shirts. Anything is a possibility. Please make sure it is in good taste!

Why is this happening?
That is very easy to answer. We already have the best disc golf tour in the country, why not have the best club/course fund raising event every year too.
All we need is your help to promote the idea and here’s how you can help:

Sponsor a hole, we need to help raise money to supply food for the players on Saturday

Get club/course members to come with you

Be positive that something of this magnitude can work

Bring the family and camp at Turkey Lake, show your family that this is something fun that they can enjoy with you, there is a play ground on site as well as restrooms and showers.

Can't play, volunteer to spot a hole, sponsor a water hole with ice cold drinks or walk with a group of newer players and help them along

Get some club t-shirts made for the players representing your club/course, show some pride

Help with sign in…appoint a club/course disc golfer to collect entry fees by the cut off date and submit all at once at check in, this will be a mandatory step in order to proceed with an easy check in.

Anything you can think of to help run a successful event, this is an event for all FLORIDA disc golfers…let’s just do it and enjoy it ! Your opinion does matter and every opinion, if submitted in writing, will be seriously considered. There will be a cut off date for entry fees to be turned in, this information will follow once all the decisions have been made.

 Once we have some disc golf clubs or courses on board with the idea, we will provide more details on dates, entry fees and player’s package contents and scoring methods for the Match play round.
